af83 and the Observeur du Design

af83 was awarded by the Observeur du Design in 2016, 2017 and 2018 for various projects combining user experience and interface design, and specific innovative developments. Two of them have earned us an Étoile, a distinctive award!

We are therefore particularly honoured that one of them has been selected for this retrospective. It is the self-service check-in kiosk created for Air France in 2015, a project that, after winning a Star of the Observer of Design, took us to the Taipei Design Week Forum - World Design Capital 2016.

In addition to such achievements as the iBook, launched by Apple in 1999, the iconic Quechua 2 seconds tent and Pristina, the innovative digital mammography system, the Air France check-in kiosk design by af83 demonstrates the plurality of changes currently underway in all branches and sectors of the economy.

And it is indeed the role of such a competition to show how design itself is a privileged space for observation and anticipation that can be supported in this constantly renewed present.

It is in the idea of movement - a recurring theme of this star collection - that the need for a forward-looking vision reveals its importance.

Info about the exhibition

After a first stop at the Pavillon de l'Arsenal, the exhibition will be held in the INPI premises until March 21st 2019
