af83 contributes to IxDA Paris
By Marie 01-06-2011
This group is the first branch of the IxDA in France; its goal is to promote Interaction Design visibility, and have actors meet and talk on events and projects. af83 has already welcomed in its premises three IxDA workshops that are organized twice a month.
Mathilde Maître, Designer at af83, also spoke at the first IxDA – CapDigital Design meeting that took place on May 3rd. The evening was dedicated to field feedbacks from designers about design integration within innovative companies.
What did she think of the meeting? "At last, a debate not limited to discussing only job titles: interaction designer, interactive designer, digital designer, etc! What’s interesting was the different designers speeches and how they find their place in innovation management: Lalao Rakotoniaina (Designer and Doctoral Student, Telecom ParisTech) who compares his practice to the academics’ very theoretical one by quoting one of them: "Designing media, it’s really way more complex than designing tires!", or Clément Bataille (Chief Creation and Design Strategy, Orange) who had to build "from scratch" a design center for the Orange group dedicated to disruptive innovation."
Her conference’s slides are available online.
